How do you reset the statue puzzle?
In the February demo thread Softlock possible??, developer sirrobbo explains that entering the corridor or pushing any statue in it resets the puzzle. Return to that corridor and observe whether the arrangement returns to its starting state. The answer concerns this specific puzzle, so do not apply it automatically to every movable object in the game.

Should you immediately reload an older save?
First try the documented reset and compare the resulting state. The developer says a permanent softlock should not be possible through this puzzle’s normal interactions. That is more specific than a general claim that all saves can be recovered. If your version behaves differently, preserve the build and sequence of actions for a useful report.
What should you record on another attempt?
Mark the initial arrangement, the pressure plates and the move that changed the result. Restart your notes after a reset instead of treating two different attempts as one continuous sequence. The source establishes the recovery mechanism; it does not provide a verified ordered solution for the entire release dungeon, so no invented statue route is included.
